Friday, July 10th, 2009
This week the CBOT did not have much positive news to keep the prices headed up. The losses came before and after the U.S.D.A. on Friday raised its estimate for new crop soybean and corn stocks and also forecast higher than expected 09/10 U.S. wheat ending stocks at 706 million bushels.
A former dollar was also a pressure point this week. When the dollar goes up it makes U.S. commodities more expensive in export channels.
Occasional thunderstorms in the U.S. Plain states of Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas during the next five to seven days were seen as possibly slowing harvest.
Favorable crop weather continues in the U.S. Midwest corn and soybean growing areas with the periodic hot flash popping up.
