How Our Technical Team Serves Customer Needs
Mark Holt, VP of Sales and Marketing, sat down with Riceland’s Director of Innovation and Technical Services Dean Oliver to discuss some of the services Riceland’s Research and Technical Center (R&T) offers. R&T exists to provide industry-leading solutions and products. Aside from product development, the R&T team works through individual customer needs.
When speaking of the customer experience with R&T, Dean says, “our team knows rice.” The team works daily to analyze the physical and chemical properties of rice. This allows for in-depth analysis of hydration rates, eating textures, cooking yields, among other processes and parameters.
Understanding and preparing these elements allows the team to anticipate customer needs. R&T can assist with anything from answering technical questions to helping customers select the correct rice variety for their unique application.
“We’re prepared when the sales team has a customer needing assistance. We can help them troubleshoot technical problems, better understand yields and optimize processes, we can even do site visits,” Dean explains.
“As part of Riceland’s commitment to our customers, we want to help customers use our products as efficiently as possible,” Dean continues.
Many of our customers are using our product as ingredients. To make their final product the best it can be, the R&T team strives to understand the highly technical processes customers are using.
“We want to be a trusted partner and foster a collaborative relationship with our customers. We live rice. Whatever problem you’re facing, we have probably seen some version and want to help you reach your end goal,” Holt concludes.
